You can sponsor a child through following ways:

  • Self as donor
  • Donate in honor or memory of a loved one

The frequency of donations can be:

  • One time contribution (Once per year)
  • Periodic short-term contribution (minimum 1 year)
  • Periodic long-term contribution (more than 1 year)
  • You can sponsor multiple children

Eligibility

    • At present we are supporting childrens from India.
    • Children studying in class from 1 to 12 in a private or government-aided school.
    • The annual income of the family should be less than 3 lakhs (INR) per annum.

Family Situations

    • Single Parent: Families with a single parent due to the unfortunate circumstance of both parents having passed away. The child should be staying
      with the surviving parent or guardian or extended family.
    • Guardian Family: The child should be staying with the surviving parent or guardian or extended family.
    • Separated Parent: Families where the parent is divorced or separated and is the primary caretaker of the child.
    • Terminal illness or Major Health Care Expenses: Families facing the financial burden of a family member's terminal illness or significant health care expenses such as heart operations or dialysis.
    • Permanent Disability: Families coping with the challenges of permanent disability resulting from accidents or naturally.
  • Max two children from a family are supported.

Specially abled children need dedicated efforts for their development. In future we will provide this possibility.

Fees for such education are typically high, making it challenging to find multiple generous sponsors. However, there are alternative options available, such as bank loans and scholarships, which children can avail themselves. Additionally, there are allied programs aimed at supporting the overall development of children at this age. Please get in touch with us for more details on these programs.

For transparency reasons, fees are paid directly to the schools. Some schools cover uniforms and other educational material as a part of fees. Hence we are indirectly covering those costs for some children.

Yes

  • During the month of May, we arrange regular residential camps for children from class 8.
  • We are also planning to develop a learning management system (LMS) having courses. Children can choose different courses according to their own interests.
  • You can choose the child by filtering through the offered criterias based on the selected options on the website.
  • In most cases, you can express preferences, such as the child's age, gender, or location. However, the final selection of the child is typically made by the sponsoring organisation to ensure equitable distribution of support.

  • Privacy and Security of the child is ensured by not displaying the picture before donations, otherwise the pictures can be misused.
  • Also a fair chance is given to all children by avoiding biases due to appearance.

  • Sponsorship can be a one-time contribution or a long term contribution. You can choose to sponsor a child for as long as you wish.
  • Some sponsors choose to support a child throughout their formative years, while others continue for many years.

Yes. But, it does not happen during an academic year. After an academic year, a parent can choose not to get the support from this program.

If your sponsorship covers fewer than 50 children, you can correspond with them via letters only. For sponsors supporting 50 or more children, we can organise two student meet-ups annually.

Yes. This can be the case. A mother from the state of Tamilnadu generously relinquished the sponsorship after 2 years when her financial position improved. You can hear it in her own words.click here

  • Your sponsorship contribution is used to cover mainly the child’s school fees.

The cost of sponsoring a child varies depending on the school fees. Monthly sponsorships can range from a few AUD to a more substantial amount, depending on the child's needs and location.

Yes. The exceeded amounts can be utilised for other children or for the administrative purposes.

Yes, you can sponsor more than one child if you are willing and able to provide support for multiple children.

Yes, it’s possible to donate partially and sponsor a child. If you choose not to sponsor a child completely, your donation will be a part of the common pool. Sewa Europe will accumulate all partially donated money and will sponsor the fees for children.

  • There are only two modes of payment.
    • Primary payment mode is online payment through our website.
    • For larger donations, direct account transfer or cheques are accepted.

Due to transparency and anti money laundring rules, cash donations are not possible.

Process / Website

We’re here to answer the questions on your mind.

Email from SAC: You will receive an email from SAC with web access to the child’s photo and information. You will also get the child’s midterm and annual grade card.

After payment is completed you can login to the website and find the child’s information and donated amount in the Sponsorship section.

  • Communicate with your child: You can connect throught letters/emails/cards. Our volunteers will help translate your letters when required. Your message of love will be conveyed to the child. Your sponsored child will write to you at least once a year and also send a Greeting Card with its photograph on special occasions like festivals. If the child is in the lower grades, the child may share own feelings through wonderful drawings and a few sentences If you have any special query your child through SAC will answer them.
  • Meet your child: You can meet your child online or phone call once a year. In person meeting with child can arranged by special arrangement with SAC.
  • Newsletter: You will receive a periodic newsletter about the SAC program and information about the community where your child lives.

Sponsor a Child program of Sewa Europe facilitates communication through letters, emails, or online platforms. You can exchange messages, photos, and updates with the child to build a meaningful connection.

Yes, we will provide periodic updates on the child's well-being like school performance records, health, and overall development.

Child's score depends on various reasons such as family background, currently available resources, child’s aptitude and others. The focus of this program is mainly to educate the child or make the education accessible to the needy children. Its focus is not grades specific. Hence irrespective of previous grades a child should be supported.
